ArcueidBot v1.0

Difficulty Easy

Focus Accuracy and Post-Shield Combos

Note that Melty Blood: Type Lumina does not save bots separately and it does not save them between uses of the game, you must re-input a bot whenever you restart the game, so we have used much simpler inputs that can sometimes be used across multiple characters (it keeps the inputs when switching characters or even playing online).

The intention of ArcueidBot is to help players practice general defensive execution and awareness against a fast character that has many options.

If you are unfamiliar with the options available after using the Shield mechanic, we suggest using our RoaBot 1.0 to build up some understanding of that instead. You may experience difficulty with this bot's goals if you do not have a strong understanding of Shield. This bot 'rewards' the player for using the Shield correctly in nearly every situation, but it has many ways of defeating Shield, so learning to shield correctly should happen naturally. The bot also uses multiple options after Shield clashes when the player shields some of Arcueid's more obvious options. Other options cause her to completely evade certain options. ArcueidBot has a very high movement capacity and uses various 'fake-out' options to strain and overload the player's cognition and ability to recognize situations. Don't be surprised if this bot causes you to become tired quite quickly. This is another of its functions, and you can use it to improve your stamina. It is a relatively easy bot to input, fortunately, therefore it is a good option to use for 'warm-ups', and when you don't have much time to play.

Gauge Settings

Settings for 1P are Life Gauge - Varies (see Goals section below), Magic Circuit - 0%, Awakened - Off

Goals

Completing each action gives 1 point. Whenever your opponent is defeated, check your health rating, and set your Health to approximately that value for the next round, and continue your count. Try to get to 10 points without being defeated (if you are, reset your health to 100% and restart your count).

Special MeltyBot Input Instruction Notes

MBTL starts recordings using the X button/Confirm button on controllers. It begins the recording instantly. However, it will also accept the input that is bound to this button in the Controller Configuration as the first part of the recorded input, if you hold down the button when you start the recording. It also gives you just enough time to hold a direction as well. Use this method to record the inputs. For example, Action #2, change your X/Confirm button to C in the Controller Settings, and you should be able to get it to accept 2C as soon as possible.

Action #1

5[B] (charged version), 2A+D (should combo as a 2A), 2BC (hold until end but end quickly), end recording instantly.

Set B as your X/Confirm button, A+D as some nearby button (to help you 'remember' to release the B to press it) and B+C to a button that is easy to hold while ending the recording. When replayed into itself, if done correctly, the 'Edge Shift' should cause Arcueid to never do the Charged B after the first time, resulting in probably just repeatedly throwing. Due to the 'optimal length' of this input being between 50 and 65 frames in total, this is usually the result.

Action #2

FirstFrame 2C [hidden-ish 4C] 236[A]9 (hold the A until end), end recording

Set C as your X/confirm button to make recording First Frame 2C possible. The 4C is noted as 'hidden-ish' because the behaviour can differ in this game. Aim to press it so fast that it could be hidden. This is the most difficult input, as you don't want too long a delay after the A to press 9 or to end the recording, but you do need a small delay. The bot does not suffer greatly in its function if this is not achieved, even if the 9 input is not done, but it is important to try. Due to this variance, there is no specific consistent 'way to see if this is working' in replays, but if you DO get the whole thing correct, she generally will not actually jump much, if at all.

Action #3

FirstFrame 2A 66 214 end recording instantly.

Set A as your X/confirm button. Ensure that she can use 214A when this replays into itself.

Action #4

1, 6, 2, release the 2 and recording instantly

This is the input where you do not hold the button to start the recording, but try to hold the 1 just after pressing the button. It is important to release 2 so that she can use this input to do her 22C and 22A attacks.

Action #5

3B 9632 end recording instantly.

Set B as your X/confirm button. When playing this action into itself you should see her use a forward rushing claw if it was perfect, but this isn't actually vital to the bot's functions. It is important to see her actually jump at least a little when doing the recording, though. Try to press the end recording so quickly that you are probably still holding 2.
